The perception of the fishing community about the communication style of the village head on the level of participation of fishermen in village activities at this time for them is not appropriate and cannot provide what they need. The purpose of this study is to analyze the fishermen's perception of the communication style of the village head, the level of fishermen's participation in village activities and the relationship between the two in Sungai Selari village. This research was carried out for five months including the process of collecting data in the field and compiling research results. There are five communication styles used by the village head. Fishermen in general have awareness of the communication patterns used by the village head in conveying information and policies, but at certain times the village head does not fully use this one-way communication, because not all information can be conveyed unilaterally but also needs opinions from the fishermen themselves. Fishermen generally consider the village head to listen, appreciate and encourage their participation. Fishermen feel that they are given full trust by the village head to make decisions that affect their lives. The village head has successfully built a close relationship with the fishermen. The village head has effective communication skills, structured and easily understood by fishermen. The fishermen's perception of the village head's communication style is “Good”. This is because the communication used by the village head goes well, in this case the Sungai Selari village head listens to the views and ideas of the fishermen, encourages active participation and creates a collaborative work environment. The fishermen's perception of the village head's communication style has a significant relationship with the participation of fishermen in activities in Sungai Selari village.
