Keterlibatan Extended Family Pada Pelaksanaan Fungsi Keluarga Ibu Tunggal Di Desa Lipatkain Selatan, Kecamatan Kampar Kiri, Kabupaten Kampar
A single mother is a mother who has been abandoned by her husband due to death or divorce. The purpose of this study is to determine the functioning of families living with their extended families and to find out how single mothers living with their extended families respond. The method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Single parents, particularly single mothers, face numerous challenges and the greatest difficulties in their lives, especially when fulfilling family functions on their own. However, the presence of an extended family can assist single mothers, particularly in carrying out their family functions. Single mothers in Lipatkain Selatan Village choose to live with their extended families due to the matrilineal system, enabling their extended families to assist single mothers in fulfilling family functions, both directly and indirectly. Therefore, there is involvement, but single mothers remain more dominant in directly fulfilling their family roles. Additionally, single mothers also face some disadvantages, though these are not overly disruptive when compared to the benefits they receive.
