Pertumbuhan Biji Anggrek (Coelogyne Rochussenii De Vriese) Secara In Vitro Pada Media Vacin And Went (Vw) Dengan Penambahan Air Kelapa
Coelogyne rochussenii is an epiphytic orchid species that is threatened with extinction due to habitat destruction, making ex situ conservation efforts—outside its natural habitat—highly necessary. One of the most effective methods for ex situ propagation is through in vitro culture techniques. The culture media used in in vitro propagation can be enriched with organic additives such as coconut water to support optimal plant growth and development. This study aimed to investigate the effect of coconut water supplementation on the growth and development of C. rochussenii orchid seeds under in vitro conditions, as well as to determine the most optimal concentration. The research was conducted descriptively using six treatment levels: A1 = 0 mL/L (control), A2 = 5 mL/L, A3 = 10 mL/L, A4 = 15 mL/L, A5 = 20 mL/L, and A6 = 25 mL/L of coconut water added to Vacin and Went (VW) medium. The results showed that all treatments resulted in a 100% survival rate of the explants. The addition of 5 mL/L of coconut water produced the best results in accelerating seedling growth up to the second leaf formation stage (phase 5) in C. rochussenii.
