Pengaruh Media Tanam Terhadap Pertumbuhan Microgreens Pepaya (Carica Papaya L. Var. Callina) Secara Hidroponik
Papaya microgreens (Carica papaya L. var. Callina) grown using compost media produce brown roots, making them less suitable for serving as food. An alternative to overcome this problem is to cultivate papaya microgreens hydroponically with a floating raft system. The success of hydroponic microgreen growth is influenced by the planting media. This study aims to determine the effect of planting media on the growth of papaya microgreens hydroponically and to determine the best planting media for hydroponic papaya microgreens cultivation. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 levels of planting media treatment, namely rockwool (M1), tissue (M2) and cocopeat (M3) consisting of 6 replications. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and further Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) with SPSS version 2017. The results showed that the type of planting media had a significant effect on the parameters of microgreens height, chlorophyll content, root length, total fresh weight, chlorophyll content and total dry weight of papaya microgreens hydroponically. Rockwool media gave the highest results compared to tissue and cocopeat media on the growth parameters of papaya microgreens hydroponically.
Key findings: growing media, hydroponics, papaya microgreens growth.
