Karakteristik Histokimia Dan Uji Toksisitas Kulit Buah Empat Jenis Citrus L. (Rutaceae) Dari Pekanbaru (Riau)
Citrus is one of the genus of the Rutaceae family originating from Asia. This study aims to determine the histochemical characteristics of the fruit skin of four species of Citrus (Rutaceae) from Pekanbaru Riau and the level of toxicity based on the LC50 value. The samples used were Citrus aurantiifolia, Citrus hystrix, Citrus limon, Citrus medica. This research was conducted from October 2024 to March 2025. Histochemical tests were carried out on lipid compounds, alkaloids, flavonoids and tannins with qualitative methods. Toxicity testing using the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test method with water extract. Toxicity test consists of six concentrations, 0 ppm, 10 ppm, 250 ppm, 500 ppm, 750 ppm, 1000 ppm. Lipid test showed positively detected in Citrus aurantiifolia, while in Citrus hystrix, Citrus limon, and Citrus medica no lipid compounds were detected. Histochemical tests show that the four species of Citrus generally contain alkaloid, flavonoid and tannin compounds. The toxicity results of the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test method with water extracts show that the four species of Citrus are included in the toxic category. Citrus aurantiifolia has an LC50 value of 290.0 ppm, Citrus hystrix has an LC50 value of 284.7 ppm, Citrus limon has an LC50 value of 287.9 ppm and Citrus medica has an LC50 value of 292.6 ppm.
