Perbandingan Sistem Gadai Emas Pada Pegadaian Syariah Dan Pegadaian Konvensional Di Kota Pekanbaru

ABSTRACT
Pawnshops function to provide funds for customers, Sharia Pawnshops offer a
more sharia or Islamic-based approach to the principles of justice and without
usury, while Conventional Pawnshops focus more on profits through loan
interest. The purpose of this study is to determine the differences between the gold
pawn system in Islamic pawnshops and conventional pawnshops and to explain
the reasons why customers prefer conventional pawnshops to Islamic pawnshops.
The method used in this research is a descriptive method, namely summarizing the
data obtained and then grouping qualitative data expressed in the form of words
and answers to the questionnaire distributed to the research sample. The results
of the study show that there are several components of differences in the contract,
the profit system obtained by pawnshops in the gold pawn system in Islamic
pawnshops and conventional pawnshops, and there is a lack of customer
knowledge about the terms used in Islamic pawnshops in the gold pawn system
customers prefer conventional pawnshops.
