penerapan model problem based learning (pbl) untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika peserta didik kelas vii-1 smp negeri 19 pekanbaru
The low achievement of Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP) in mathematics among students in class VII-1 at SMPN 19 Pekanbaru served as the background for conducting this research. This classroom action research aimed to improve mathematics learning outcomes and enhance the learning process through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The research design employed the Kemmis and McTaggart model with two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 36 students from class VII-1 at SMPN 19 Pekanbaru in the academic year 2024/2025. The research instruments included learning materials comprising Learning Objective Flow (ATP) and teaching modules, as well as data collection instruments consisting of student activity observation sheets and mathematics learning achievement tests. The data analysis technique utilized quantitative descriptive analysis to measure KKTP achievement and qualitative analysis to evaluate the learning process. The research results demonstrated a significant improvement in KKTP achievement, rising from the initial condition of 38.88% to 52.77% in cycle I, and reaching 80.55% in cycle II. Frequency distribution analysis confirmed substantial improvement in student learning outcomes. These findings indicate that the implementation of the PBL model is effective in optimizing the learning process and improving mathematics learning outcomes. Therefore, the PBL model can be recommended as an appropriate alternative learning strategy to enhance the quality of mathematics education in junior high schools.
