implementasi pupuk organik cair (poc) limbah kulit nanas dan kulit nangka terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman bayam merah (aMARANTHUS TRICOLOR l.) sebagai rancangan poster pada mata pelajaran biologi sma
Fertilizer plays a crucial role in increasing food and horticultural crop yields. Currently, the majority of farmers rely on inorganic fertilizers to support their agricultural activities. Besides being expensive, the continued use of inorganic fertilizers can negatively impact the environment and soil fertility. Utilizing organic waste such as pineapple and jackfruit peels as raw materials for liquid organic fertilizer (POC) is one solution to address these issues. Using liquid organic fertilizer on plants not only provides essential nutrients but also improves soil structure. Liquid organic fertilizer made from pineapple and jackfruit peels can be used on various types of plants, including red spinach.
The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer from pineapple peel and jackfruit peel on the growth of red spinach plants, to determine the optimal concentration of liquid organic fertilizer from pineapple peel and jackfruit peel on the growth of red spinach plants, and to design a poster on the growth and development material for grade XII high school based on the research results.
The research was conducted in Sejati Village and continued at the Biology Education Laboratory of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (PMIPA), University of Riau. The study was conducted from February to June 2025. This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments and 3 replications. The poster design refers to the following stages:analyze And designThe parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves (strands), root length, wet weight, and dry weight, as well as the potential of the research results as a poster design for high school biology class XII on growth and development. The data analysis used was analysis of variance (ANOVA) with the DMRT further test.(Duncan’s Multiple Range Test) at the 5% level.
The results of the study showed that the effect of pineapple peel and jackfruit peel liquid organic fertilizer on the growth of red spinach plants did not differ significantly between treatments. However, the 200 ml POC treatment gave the best

results in several parameters, such as plant height, number of leaves, and root length. Compared to the 500 ml POC treatment in particular, it showed the lowest red spinach growth in all parameters. This indicates that too high a concentration of pineapple peel and jackfruit peel liquid organic fertilizer can inhibit the growth of red spinach plants. The results of the study can be developed as a poster material on plant growth and development in phase F of grade XII of high school semester 1.
Based on the research results and discussion, it can be concluded that the application of liquid organic fertilizer from pineapple peel and jackfruit peel did not significantly affect the growth of red spinach plants at a 95% confidence level. Based on the average value, the optimal concentration of liquid organic fertilizer from pineapple peel and jackfruit peel for red spinach growth was 200 ml of POC treatment. The poster learning media that has been developed can be used as an alternative learning media in the biology learning process at school.
