Analisis Aspek Verbal Dan Aspek Situasional Kenakalan Remaja Dalam Drama 3-Nen A-Gumi
Juvenile delinquency is a complex phenomenon that encompasses psychological, sociological, and cultural dimensions. In Japan, this issue often appears in the form of ijime (bullying), including verbal, social, and cyberbullying. Contributing factors such as academic pressure, expectations for conformity, and insufficient intervention from schools have intensified the problem. The Japanese drama 3-nen A-gumi: Ima kara Mina-san wa, Hitojichi desu was selected as the object of study due to its portrayal of ijime and the tragic consequences it presents, particularly through the use of social media.
This study focuses on two aspects of juvenile delinquency: verbal (e.g., slander, insults, degrading nicknames, hate speech, threats) and situational (e.g., cyberbullying through fake videos, social manipulation, exclusion, and property destruction). These are analyzed through Stuart Hall’s theory of representation using three approaches: (1) the reflective approach, showing how the drama mirrors real issues of ijime in Japan; (2) the intentional approach, uncovering the perpetrators’ motives; and (3) the constructionist approach, examining how meanings are shaped by social and cultural structures such as conformity, power relations, and digital media discourse.
The findings reveal that both verbal and situational forms of delinquency are not only depicted as individual behavior but also as products of a broader cultural and social system. This study aims to provide a deeper understanding of how juvenile delinquency is represented and constructed in Japanese society through media narratives.
