This research was conducted due to the lack of discipline character among students at school. One of the efforts to minimize this issue is through the implementation of school rules. The problem formulation in this study is: Is there an influence of the implementation of school rules on the discipline character of students at SMA Negeri 1 Gunung Toar?.
This study aims to determine whether the implementation of school rules has an influence on the discipline character of students at SMA Negeri 1 Gunung Toar. The benefit of this research is that it is expected to serve as a guideline for the school regarding school regulations and student discipline character. Furthermore, it may serve as a reference material on the influence of school rules on students' discipline character.
The research method used in this study is a descriptive quantitative method. This study was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Gunung Toar, located in Gunung Toar District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province, Indonesia. In this study, the researcher used a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire consisting of 20 statements divided into two groups: variable X comprises 10 statements, and variable Y also comprises 10 statements. The population in this study includes all students of SMA Negeri 1 Gunung Toar. The sample was determined by taking 25% of the total population of 380 students, resulting in a sample size of 95 students.
Based on the results of data analysis using a simple regression test with the help of SPSS version 25, it was found that there is a positive and significant

influence of the implementation of school rules on the discipline character of students at SMA Negeri 1 Gunung Toar. This is evidenced by the results of the hypothesis test, where the calculated F-value (Fcount) is greater than or equal to the Ftable value, namely 62.430 ≥ 3.94, indicating that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted—meaning that the implementation of school rules does have an effect on the students' discipline character. The results of the coefficient of determination test show that the influence of school rule implementation on student discipline character is 40.2%, while the remaining 59.8% is influenced by other factors.
