Inventarisasi Jenis Dan Kepadatan Bintang Laut (Asrteroidea) Di Perairan Desa Kelombok Kabupaten Lingga Kepulauan Riau
Echinoderms are important components in marine food webs. One of them is Asteroidea which is widely found on the coast and coral areas. The purpose of this study was to determine the inventory of types and density of starfish found in the waters of Kelombok Village, Lingga Regency, Riau Islands. This study was conducted in January-February 2024. The method used was the survey method, data collection was carried out using quadrant transects which were repeated three times at 4 observation stations, the quadrants were placed randomly and the sampling points were determined by purposive sampling in 2 zones (lithoral zone and neritic zone). The results of this study found 2 types of starfish, namely
Craspidaster hesperus and Luidia sp. Based on the density level, the highest density (1,833 ind/m2) was obtained at station 3. Diversity is relatively low. The
Dominance Index is moderate and there is a dominant type, namely Craspidaster hesperus. The distribution pattern of the Luidia sp. species is uniform and Craspidaster hesperus is grouped. The results of water quality parameter measurements are classified as ideal for the survival of starfish in the waters of Kelombok Village.
