Strategi Komunikasi General Manager Pt. Besmindo Materi Sewatama Duri Dalam Meningkatkan Kedisiplinan Kerja Karyawan
              Work discipline is one of the crucial factors that determines effectiveness and safety in the workplace, especially in companies engaged in the sales, rental, and services of oilfield equipment, such as PT. Besmindo Materi Sewatama Duri. Issues such as employee tardiness, inconsistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and violations of work regulations highlight the need for an effective communication strategy from management. This study aims to describe the communication strategy implemented by the General Manager of PT. Besmindo Materi Sewatama Duri in improving employee work discipline. The purpose of this research is the communicator's role, message delivery, communication media used, employee responses, and the effects of the communication strategy applied.
This research uses a qualitative method with a strategic communication model. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation, and documentation. The informants consist of five individuals selected through purposive sampling based on predetermined criteria. Data were analyzed using the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through prolonged observation and triangulation techniques.
The findings show that the (1) General Manager plays an active role as the main communicator who not only delivers messages but also acts as a role model and disciplinarian. (2) Messages are delivered in a simple and communicative manner, emphasizing the importance of discipline for workplace safety. (3) The media used include direct communication (briefings and safety talks), written media (posters, banners, and warning letters), and digital media (WhatsApp, Zoom meetings, and email). (4) Communication is carried out in a two-way manner, opening space for employee participation through dialogue and discussion. (5) The effects of this strategy are beginning to show through behavioral changes in some employees, although others still show resistance. To address this, the General Manager applies sustained communication with an adaptive approach.
