Aktivitas Antibakteri Sabun Cair Cuci Tangan Dari Daun Bakau Merah (Rhizophora Mucronata) Terhadap Bakteri Staphylococcus Aureus
Indragiri Hilir Regency hasmangrove areasthat are underutilized, namely the red mangrove (Rhizophora mucronata). However, red mangrove leaves contain secondary metabolites that have potential antibacterial properties. Currently, very few hand soaps on the market use natural ingredients, with most using synthetic ingredients as active ingredients. Synthetic active ingredients can have negative effects on people with sensitive skin, causing irritation. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effect of red mangrove leaf extract (R. mucronata) concentration on liquid hand soap and to identify the optimal concentration of red mangrove leaf extract (R. mucronata) as an antibacterial agent in liquid hand soap. The method used in this study was an experiment, which involved applying red mangrove leaf extract to liquid hand soap. The study design was a non-factorial Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatment levels: F0 (without red mangrove extract); F0.5 (0.5% red mangrove extract); F1 (1% red mangrove extract); F1.5 (1.5% red mangrove extract), and FK (commercial). The test parameters included sample evaluation (physical appearance, odor, and homogeneity), pH testing, and antibacterial activity testing against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The concentration of red mangrove leaf extract (R. mucronata) did not significantly affect the pH value of liquid hand soap but did affect the antibacterial activity of liquid hand soap. Hand wash soap with the addition of 1.5% red mangrove leaf extract was the best treatment, characterized by a reddish-yellow color, thick texture, olive oil aroma with the distinctive scent of red mangrove leaves resembling tea, homogeneity, and a pH of 7.2, which was safe according to SNI standardsranging from4 to10. and the antibacterialactivity against Staphylococcus aureus exhibited a strong inhibition zone of 15.07 mm.
