This research aims to determine the types and abundance of phytoplankton

found in the Genting River in Tanjung Medang Village. The research was conducted in September 2024 in the Genting River in Tanjung Medang Village. The research was conducted using a survey method to obtain primary data in the form of phytoplankton sample analysis results and water quality measurement results. Sampling was conducted three times with a one-week interval. The collected phytoplankton samples were identified and their abundance was calculated. The results of this study identified 43 types of phytoplankton with abundance values ranging from 6,280 to 7,560 cells/L. The water quality data obtained showed temperatures ranging from 29-30°C, pH ranging from 6-7, salinity ranging from 26-28 ppt, DO concentration ranging from 4.90-5.05 mg/L, free CO2 concentration ranging from 12.66-17.29 mg/L, nitrate concentration ranging from 0.0760-0.0867 mg/L, and phosphate concentration ranging from 0.130-0.188 mg/L. The measured water quality parameters still support aquatic organisms, especially phytoplankton.
