This study aims to determine the effect of circuit training on increasing the
aerobic endurance of red belt taekwondo athletes at the Dojang King Dragon
Bengkalis Regency in 2024, to determine the effect of interval training on increasing
the aerobic endurance of red belt taekwondo athletes at the Dojang King Dragon
Bengkalis Regency in 2024, to determine the effect of circuit training and interval
training on increasing the aerobic endurance of red belt taekwondo athletes at the
Dojang King Dragon Bengkalis Regency in 2024. The type of research used is
experimental research, this research can be carried out in the open and also in a
closed room, in experimental research, the existing conditions are manipulated by
the researcher according to the researcher's needs, in these manipulated conditions,
usually 1 group is made, namely One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design the dependent
variable is measured as one group before (pretest) and after (posttest) a treatment
is given. In this study, the sample collection technique was carried out by total
sampling, where the sample was a red belt taekwondo team consisting of 10 people.
The research instrument in this study used a direct physical test using the Balke test
method. Balke Test (15-minute run). The results showed that Circuit Training had a
significant effect on increasing the aerobic endurance of athletes. This was proven
by the increase in VO₂max scores after 7 circuit training sessions involving six
physical training posts. Interval Training also had a positive effect on the aerobic
endurance of athletes. This training program was able to increase the efficiency of
the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, as well as the aerobic capacity of
athletes. The combination of Circuit Training and Interval Training significantly
increased the aerobic endurance (VO₂max) of athletes as a whole. This was proven
by the results of the t-test which showed a calculated value (2.889) greater than the
table value (1.833), which means there was a significant difference between before
and after treatment.
