This study aims to develop reading teaching materials with global methods based
on local wisdom for grade I elementary school students. This research is a type of
development research (Research and Development) using the ADDIE model
which includes the stages of Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and
Evaluation. The data collection techniques used include interviews, tests,
questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The feasibility of teaching
materials was obtained through a validation process by linguists and media
experts, as well as a limited trial. The validation results showed that the teaching
materials obtained a feasibility score of 70% from linguists and 91% from media
experts. The limited trial was conducted on 6 students and showed a significant
increase in reading ability. The results of the analysis using the N-Gain test
showed an average pre-test score of 64,83 and post-test of 82,16 with an N-Gain
score of 0,52 which is included in the moderate category. In addition, this
teaching material also received positive responses from students with a
percentage of 96%, as well as feedback from teachers with a score of 88%. Based
on these results, it can be concluded that reading teaching materials with global
methods based on local wisdom are very feasible to use in reading learning in
elementary schools.
