keanekaragaman plankton sebagai bioindikator kualitas air sungai siak, kecamatan tualang, kabupaten siak, provinsi riau
The Siak River is one of the major rivers in Riau Province that experiences environmental pressure due to industrial, household, market and water transportation activities. This condition has the potential to reduce the quality of the waters, so a bioindicator approach such as plankton is needed to assess trophic status and pollution levels. This study aims to identify the types of plankton and determine plankton diversity as a bioindicator of water quality in the Siak River, Tualang District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. Sampling was carried out at three stations and was carried out in December 2024-January 2025. The results of this study were found to be 8 species of plankton from 3 classes, 7 orders, and 7 families. The abundance of plankton ranges from 800-1706.67 ind/L, the diversity index ranges from 1.078-1.446, the uniformity index ranges from 0.761-0.807, and the dominance index ranges from 0.326-0.442. Physico-chemical parameters indicate temperature and brightness as per quality standards, but pH and dissolved oxygen are below optimal limits at some stations. Based on this study, it was stated that the Siak River in Tualang District, Siak Regency, Riau Province is moderately polluted.
