Hubungan Kerapatan Ekosistem Mangrove Dengan Kelimpahan Siput Sedot (Cerithidea Cingulate) Di Kelurahan Concong Luar, Kecamatan Concong, Kabupaten Indagiri Hilir
This study aims to analyze the relationship between mangrove density and the abundance of mud snail (Cerithidea cingulata) in Concong Luar Village, Concong Subdistrict, Indragiri Hilir Regency. The research was conducted from March to May 2025 at three observation stations representing different mangrove conditions, ranging from natural areas to sites adjacent to settlements. A purposive sampling method was applied using line transect plots for mangrove observation and hand collecting for snail sampling. Environmental parameters measured included temperature, salinity, pH, sediment fraction, and organic matter content. The results identified four dominant mangrove species, namely Rhizophora apiculata, Avicennia alba, Sonneratia alba, and Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, with densitiesranging from 1,500 to 3,900 trees/ha. The abundance of C. cingulata varied among stations, with the highest at Station II (37,443 ind/ha) and the lowest at Station I (18,226 ind/ha). Simple linear regression analysis produced the equation y = 8105.565 + 2.770x with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.691, indicating a moderately strong positive relationship, although the coefficient of determination (R² = 0.478) explained less than half of the variation in snail abundance. Other factors such as sediment texture, organic matter, salinity, pH, and tidal dynamics also significantly influenced habitat suitability.Thesefindings highlight theimportanceof sustainable mangrove conservation and rehabilitation to maintain ecosystem balance and the sustainability of C. cingulata populations with both ecological and economic value.
