Hubungan Kepadatan Gastropoda Dengan Kerapatan Mangrove Di Desa apar Provinsi Sumatera Barat
This study aims to analyze the relationship between mangrove density and
gastropod Solidity in the mangrove ecosystem of Desa Apar, Pariaman City. The research was conducted at three stations using the line transect plot method to measure mangrove density and the quadrat method to calculate gastropod Solidity. Data were analyzed using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and simple linear regression to examine the relationship between the two variables. The results showed that seven mangrove species were found, namely Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora apiculata, Sonneratia alba, Sonneratia caseolaris, Nypa fruticans, Acanthus ilicifolius, and Dolichandrone spathacea. The highest mangrove density was recorded at Station 2 with 2,300 trees/ha (dense category), while the lowest was at Station 3 with 1,466 trees/ha (moderate category). Furthermore, seven gastropod species were identified, including Neritina turrita, Neritina semiconica, Neritodryas dubia, Faunus ater, Cerithidea quadrata, Thiara scabra, and Cassidula aurisfelis. The highest gastropod Solidity was observed at Station 1 with 283,000 ind/ha, while the lowest was at Station 3 with 218,000 ind/ha. The results of PCA and linear regression analyses revealed a positive relationship between mangrove density and gastropod Solidity, although the strength of the relationship was relatively weak. This indicates that in addition to mangrove density, other environmental factors such as substrate type, organic matter content, and water quality also influence the distribution and Solidity of gastropods in mangrove ecosystems.
