Analysis Of Factors Affecting The Rupiahexchange Rate Against The Chinese Yuan Submitted As One Of The Requirements To Take The Oral Comprehensive Exam
ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the factors that affect Rupiah Exchange Rate
Against the Chinese Yuan. The study utilizes independent variables such as
Indonesia Inflation, China Inflation, BI Rate, and External Debt, while the
dependent variable is Rupiah Exchange Rate Against the Chinese Yuan. The
research method used is the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model
processing technique which aims to see the factors that exchange rate in the long
run and short run. The dataset employed in this study comprises quarterly data
spanning from 2008 to 2023. Short-run results indicate that Indonesian Inflation has
a positive and significant, China’s Inflation has a negative and significant effect, the
BI Rate shows no significant impact, while External Debt has a positive and
significant effect on the rupiah-yuan exchange rate. Long-run indicates that
Indonesian Inflation has a positive and significant effect, China’s inflation has a
positive and insignificant effect, the BI Rate has a positive and insignificant effect,
while External Debt has a positive and insignificant on the rupiah-yuan exchange
rate.
