Strategi Komunikasi Public Relations Pt Giga Putra Perkasa Dalam Menangani Limbah Pabrik Kelapa Sawit Di Kecamatan Kabun Kabupaten Rokan Hulu
Palm oil mill waste is an environmental issue that is often complained
about by the community, especially in the area around the industry's
operations. In Kabun District, Rokan Hulu Regency, PT. Giga Putra
Perkasa faces challenges in responding to the impact of waste complained
about by local residents. The public relations communication strategy
carried out by PT. Giga Putra Perkasa in handling palm oil mill waste in
Kabun District, Rokan Hulu Regency plays an important role in dealing
with the issues that occur. The importance of communication strategy as
one of the determining factors for the success of what you want to convey
or what is the company's goals. The purpose of this study is to analyze the
public relations communication strategy implemented by PT. Giga Putra
Perkasa in handling waste problems with three main stages, namely
planning, implementation, and evaluation.
This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. The informants in this
study amounted to 5 people according to the criteria selected using
purposive techniques. Data collection techniques through interviews,
observations, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses an
interactive data analysis model by miles and huberman, namely data
collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. For
the validity of the data in this study, triangulation was used.
The results of the study show that PT. Giga Putra Perkasa in handling
palm oil mill waste is carried out in three stages, namely Planning,
Implementation, and Evaluation. First, planning, PT. Giga Putra Perkasa
conducts situation analysis, audience analysis and policy determination, as
well as selects communication channels such as group discussions and
through WhatsApp media. Second, implementation is carried out through
socialization of waste management and corporate social responsibility, in
order to foster a positive stigma against the public's view of the company.
Third, evaluations are carried out periodically through discussions and
reporting of TJSP involving the community and stakeholders, in order to
measure the effectiveness of the strategy and optimize the results of the
programs that have been implemented.
