Aplikasi Pupuk Kascing Dan Npk Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Bawang Merah (Allium Ascalonicum L.)
ABSTRACT
Shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) is a high-value horticultural commodity widely used as a cooking ingredient, industrial raw material, and a source of income for farmers. However, its productivity remains limited due to declining soil fertility and suboptimal fertilization practices. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of vermicompost, NPK fertilizer, and their interaction on the growth and yield of shallot plants, and to determine the most effective combination. The experiment was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a factorial arrangement consisting of two factors: five levels of vermicompost (10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, and 20 t/ha) and two levels of NPK fertilizer (0 and 300 kg/ha), resulting in 10 treatment combinations replicated three times. Observed parameters included vegetative growth and yield-related traits, analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and further tested at a 5% significance level. The results showed that the interaction between vermicompost and NPK had no significant effect on any observed parameters. Vermicompost alone significantly affected all growth and yield parameters, while NPK fertilizer at 300 kg/ha significantly influenced plant height, stem diameter, and number of bulbs per clump. The best performance was obtained from the combination of 20 t/ha vermicompost and 300 kg/ha NPK, which enhanced both growth and yield. These findings highlight the importance of integrating organic and inorganic fertilizers to optimize shallot production.
