pengembangan e-modul ajar membaca cerita pendek kelas xi berbasis pbl bermuatan cerita rakyat melayu
This study aims to develop an e-learning module for reading short stories for Grade XI based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) incorporating Malay folk tales. The study is motivated by the need for innovative approaches to teaching short story reading in senior high schools that better align with the characteristics of the digital generation. To achieve this objective, the study employed a research and development (R&D) method using the Hannafin & Peck model, conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Tualang and SMA Negeri 4 Tualang in Siak District. Data analysis utilized both qualitative and quantitative approaches to measure the effectiveness of the developed e-module.
The research results indicate that the PBL-based e-module incorporating Malay folk tales can enhance students' reading comprehension skills. This e-module also successfully facilitates the learning style of the digital generation, who are more comfortable using electronic devices, and supports the creation of more interactive and collaborative learning in the classroom. The advantages of the developed e-module include cost savings on printing and office supplies, easy and secure storage, environmental friendliness, easier access for teachers to teaching modules, and quick responses for page navigation. However, there are some limitations, such as localised use, dependence on internet connectivity, and difficulties for users unfamiliar with digital devices.
Based on these findings, the study concludes that e-modules for teaching short stories based on PBL with Malay folk tales can be an alternative innovative learning medium in Indonesian language lessons. This medium has proven to enhance the quality of literary education while fostering students' awareness of the importance of preserving the nation's cultural heritage. For future research, it is recommended to integrate local wisdom into the development of teaching modules, create modules with additional content that incorporates local wisdom, utilise more interactive and varied media, and conduct large-scale testing and dissemination of research findings.
