pengembangan modul pembelajaran ipa berbasis tradisi menongkah kerang suku duano untuk meningkatkan literasi sains dan sikap saintifik siswa di kawasan pesisir indragiri hilir riau
Education plays an important role in forming quality human resources, one of which is through strengthening scientific literacy and scientific attitudes. However, the results of the study show that the scientific literacy of Indonesian students is still low, including at SMPN 1 Tanah Merah, especially in connecting scientific concepts with everyday life and local culture. The material on effort and simple machines is considered difficult because it is abstract and lacks real context. The results of the needs analysis show that science learning has not been optimal in training scientific literacy and scientific attitudes, marked by the lack of use of contextual approaches and the lack of integration of local wisdom. The menongkah kerang tradition, which is the culture of the Duano Tribe, contains scientific concepts such as force, effort, and simple machines, but has not been utilized as a learning resource. An ethnoscience approach that integrates local culture in learning can bridge this gap. Therefore, the development of a science learning module based on the menongkah kerang tradition is an innovative solution to improve students' scientific literacy and scientific attitudes, with the hope that students can better understand science material through a cultural context that is close to their lives.
The purpose of this study was to design and construct a science learning module based on the menongkah kerang tradition, to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the science learning module based on the menongkah kerang tradition to improve students' scientific literacy and scientific attitudes. The benefits of this study can improve students' scientific literacy and scientific attitudes, can help teachers in preparing interactive learning media on the material of business and simple machines in everyday life, can improve the quality of science learning in schools, and as one of the reference materials for other researchers in improving the quality of learning.
This type of research is research and development or Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE type of instructional media design model consisting of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation. The science learning module based on the menongkah kerang tradition was validated by 2 expert validators using a validity assessment sheet consisting of material, pedagogical, and media aspects. Furthermore, the science learning module based on the menongkah kerang tradition was tested for its practicality through one on one trials by 3 students, as well as response tests by 28 students and 3 science teachers using a practicality assessment sheet. The implementation of the field trial was carried out using the quasi experimental design method with a posttest only control group design research design. The population in this study were all grade VIII students at SMPN 1

Tanah Merah in the 2024/2025 academic year. The sample of this study consisted of an experimental group of 27 and a control group of 29 students. The data collection method uses the scientific literacy test method with objective questions and non test techniques using students' scientific literacy questionnaires. The data analysis technique for hypothesis testing uses MANOVA test analysis, first a prerequisite test is carried out including the normality test and the M Box test.
Based on the results of the validation of the assessment of the science learning model based on the menongkah kerang tradition by material experts, the average score was 3.83 with a valid category. The results of the validation of the assessment by pedagogical experts were 3.76 with a valid category. The results of the validation of the assessment by media experts were 3.75 with a valid category. The results of the teacher's practicality test were 3.82 with a very practical category and the results of the student's practicality test were 3.80 with a very practical category. Based on the results of the posttest, the average value of the experimental group's scientific literacy results was 74.24, while in the control group it was 59.94. Based on inferential research with a multivariate analysis of variance test, it was found that the significance value of 0.000 means that there is a difference in scientific literacy and scientific attitudes of students between the group that implemented the menongkah kerang tradition based science learning module and the control group that implemented conventional learning. In detail, in the MANOVA test, the significance value of the scientific literacy results was 0.000, meaning that there was a significant difference in the results of students' scientific literacy in the experimental group and the control group. Furthermore, the scientific attitude aspect of students in the experimental group was 81.59 and the control group was 78.55. The difference in students' scientific attitudes was significantly obtained with a significance value of 0.067, meaning that there was no significant difference in students' scientific attitudes in the experimental and control groups. However, descriptively, the results of the experimental students' scientific attitudes were much higher.
Based on the results of the research and data analysis, it can be concluded that the design and construction of the science learning module based on the menongkah kerang tradition was developed based on the ADDIE type instructional design. The results of the validity and practicality tests showed that the science learning module based on the menongkah kerang tradition was valid and practical to use in science learning. The results of the field test showed that the science learning module based on the menongkah kerang tradition was effective in improving students' scientific literacy and scientific attitudes.
