Profil Kekerasan Seksual Pada Korban Laki-Laki Di RS Bhayangkara Pekanbaru Kepolisian Daerah Riau Periode 2018–2024
Sexual violence is an act of sexual abuse against a person, whether female or male, that is done by force. Sexual violence does not only affect women; men also frequently become victims in a significant and increasing number every year in Indonesia. Sexual violence against men is a public health issue that is often overlooked. This research aims to understand the profile of sexual violence against male victims examined at Bhayangkara Hospital Pekanbaru, Riau Regional Police, during the period of 2018–2024. This study uses a retrospective descriptive design with secondary data in the form of forensic medical records for a total of 60 cases. The analyzed variables include the age of the victim, the area of predilection for sexual violence, the status of the perpetrator, and the frequency of occurrences. The results indicate that male victims are predominantly children (93.3%). The most common areas of preference that become locations of violence are the anus (51.7%), followed by the penis, oral, and combinations of several preferred areas. The relationship of the perpetrator to the victim is dominated by close acquaintances but without blood relations (86.7%). The frequency of sexual violence incidents is equally divided between recurring and non-recurring cases, each accounting for 50%. The conclusion of this study is that there are cases of sexual violence against men examined at Bhayangkara Hospital Pekanbaru during the period of 2018–2024, highlighting the importance of protection and special handling for male victims, especially children, as well as the need for improved documentation and coordination among institutions to support the law enforcement process and victim rehabilitation.
