Kaji Komputasional Pengaruh Variasi Bahan Bakar Biosolar Terhadap Performa Pada Mesin Diesel
ABSTRACT
This study discusses the effect of biosolar fuel variations on the performance of diesel engines using the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method with OpenFOAM software. The main objective of this study is to analyze how changes in fuel type affect the combustion process and engine performance, such as power, torque, and Indicated Mean Effective Pressure (IMEP). The engine used was a Ratna R100 CDi diesel engine with a compression ratio of 21:1, using variations of B0 diesel fuel, B20 biosolar, B40 biosolar, and B60 biosolar. The simulation results showed that changes in fuel type had a significant effect on engine performance. With B0 fuel, the IMEP obtained was 3.89 bar, the power obtained was 6.615 kW, and the torque obtained was 31.6 Nm. With B20 biodiesel fuel, the IMEP value obtained was 3.46 bar, the power was 5.894 kW, and the torque was 28.16 Nm. For B40 biodiesel fuel, the highest IMEP was 3.26 bar, the power was 5.558 kW, and the torque was 26.51 Nm. And for B60 biodiesel fuel, the highest IMEP value obtained was 3.1 bar, the highest power was 5.391 kW, and the torque was 25.75 Nm.
