Jenis Dan Kepadatan Teripang Di Perairan Desa Pengudang Kabupaten Bintan Provinsi Kepulauan Riau
This study aims to determine the types and density of sea cucumbers in the waters of Pengudang Village, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province, and to determine the water quality in the sea cucumber habitat. This study was conducted in September 2024. The determination of the research station used the purposive sampling method, namely by considering various environmental conditions. At the research location, there were 3 observation stations and each station consisted of 3 transect lines with a distance of 25 m each. In one transect there were 10 plots measuring 1x1 m with a distance of 10 m each plot. The water quality measured included temperature, brightness, depth, current speed, sediment type, organic matter, salinity, pH and DO. Based on the results of the study, 3 types of sea cucumbers were found, namely Holothuria scabra, Holothuria leucospilota, and Holothuria atra. The density of sea cucumbers ranged from 0.70–0.86 ind/m2 (7,000-8,600 ind/ha). The water quality in Pengudang Village is still relatively good so it still supports the growth of organisms such as sea cucumbers that live in these waters.
