Traditional gold panning is a job in the gold mining sector that is carried out using simple tools. Gold panning activities are known as small-scale gold mining activities (ASGM). This study aims to explain the working relationship that exists between gold panners and tauke and to determine the factors that influence the working relationship between traditional gold panners and tauke. The technique for determining informants is using a purposive sampling technique. The subjects in this study numbered 9 people, 6 of whom were the main informants, namely traditional gold panners. Research data collection techniques were in the form of in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study show that there are four main motives that encourage someone to become a traditional gold panner, namely the invitation factor, the need factor, the experience and skills factor, the result factor. The working relationship between traditional gold panners and tauke is formed in various forms, namely buying and selling relationships, accounts payable, supply of materials, giving sales bonuses, giving bonuses on religious days. The factors that influence the working relationship between traditional gold panners and tauke are, kinship factors, length of subscription, length of relationship, honesty. This suggests that social relations in gold panning activities are not solely based on economic transactions but are also influenced by strong social and cultural factors.
