pengaruh pengenalan lapangan persekolahan (plp) dan efikasi diri terhadap minat menjadi guru pada mahasiswa jurusan pips universitas riau
This study aims to examine the effect of School Field Introduction (Pengenalan
Lapangan Persekolahan or PLP) and self-efficacy on the interest in becoming a
teacher among students in the Social Science Education Department. The
background of this study is based on the declining interest of education students in
pursuing a teaching profession, despite the high demand for qualified teachers. The
research used a quantitative associative approach. The population consisted of all
2021 cohort students in the department, with a total sample of 146 respondents
determined using the Slovin formula and selected through proportional stratified
random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and
analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that PLP had a
significant partial effect on the interest in becoming a teacher, with a significance
value of 0.003, and self-efficacy also had a significant partial effect with a
significance value of 0.000. Simultaneously, PLP and self-efficacy had a significant
effect on students’ interest in becoming teachers. The coefficient of determination
(R²) was 0.276, indicating that 27.6% of the variance in interest was explained by
the two variables. These findings suggest that meaningful field experience and
strong self-belief are crucial in fostering students’ aspirations to pursue teaching
careers.
