Analisis Efektivitas Biaya Penggunaan Antibiotik Empiris Pada Pasien Sepsis Di Intensive Care Unit Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Tahun 2023-2024
Sepsis is characterized by a dysregulated immune response to infection, leading to life-threatening organ dysfunction. This condition poses an economic burden to nations due to its high mortality rate. The accurate selection of empirical antibiotics is a critical component in the management of sepsis. Inappropriate antibiotic use carries the risk of resistance, which can subsequently increase healthcare costs. This study is a retrospective descriptive research aimed at determining the number of sepsis patients, clinical outcomes, and a cost- effectiveness analysis of empirical antibiotic use in sepsis patients treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of RSUD Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau during the period of 2023–2024. The analysis is presented using the Average Cost-Effectiveness Ratio (ACER) method. A total of 44 medical records that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed. The results of the research shows that the highest incidence of sepsis was found in male patients (52.3%) and in the age group of 25–44 years (34.1%). Most patients did not show clinical improvement (88.6%) and the highest discharge outcome was death (72,7%). The lowest ACER was found in the combination of amikacin–metronidazole.
