Gambaran Kejadian Cacingan Dan Perilaku Hidup Bersih Dan Sehat Pada Anak Sekolah Dasar Di Kecamatan Kampa
Infection by soil-transmitted helminths is one of the most common forms of infection affecting elementary school-aged children. The worms that commonly cause infection are roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides), whipworms (Trichuris trichiura), and hookworms (Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus). This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted from January to August 2025 in eight elementary schools in Kampa District. The purpose of this study is to examine the prevalence of helminthiasis and clean and healthy living behaviours among elementary school children in Kampa District. This study used direct staining with 2% eosin. A total of 104 samples were obtained. The results showed that no worm eggs were found in the stool samples of elementary school children. Poor nail hygiene were found in 56.7% of children, 83.7% had taken deworming medication in the past three months, 78.8% washed their hands after defecation, 71.2% washed their hands before eating, 57.7% had good nail-cutting habits, and 91.3% always wore footwear when leaving the house. It was concluded that the absence of worm infections was influenced by the high coverage of deworming medication and fairly good clean and healthy living practices, which served as effective protective factors in the area.
