Pengaruhpemberianekstrak Daun Seri (Muntingia Calabura) Terhadap Kadar Ldl Tikus Wistar Yang Diberikan Diettinggi Lemak
Dyslipidemia is one of the lipid metabolism disorders characterized by an increase in Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL) levels in the blood. Seri leaf (Muntingia calabura) is known to contain active compounds such as flavonoids and saponins that have potential hypolipidemic effects. This study aimed to determine the effect of seri leaf extract administration on LDL levels in Wistar rats fed a High Fat Diet. This experimental study used a post-test only control group design involving 28 male Wistar rats, which were randomly divided into four treatment groups. The standard diet group was given only standard feed and aquadest, while the negative control, positive control, and treatment groups were given a High Fat Diet. The positive control group received Pioglitazone at a dose of 3.1 mg/kgBW, and the treatment group received seri leaf extract at a dose of 100 mg/kgBW. The rats were terminated in the eighth week, and LDL levels were measured using an enzymatic method with the Cholesterol Kit Human Diagnostic. The results showed that the mean LDL levels in the standard diet, negative control, positive control, and treatment groups were 38,93 ± 3,343 mg/dL, 54,65
± 10,953 mg/dL, 33,81 ± 7,477 mg/dL, dan 40,33 ± 10,745 mg/dL, respectively. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference between the seri leaf extract group and the negative control group (P=0.05). It can be concluded that the administration of seri leaf extract (Muntingia calabura) can reduce LDL levels in Wistar rats fed a High Fat Diet.
