The formulation of the problem in this study is How is the Performance of
the Library Manager of the Village Loves Reading in Encouraging Reading
Interest of the Community of Sibuak Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency?
The focus of this study is to determine the Performance of the Library Manager of
the Village Loves Reading in Encouraging Reading Interest of the Community of
Sibuak Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency.
Theoretically, this research is expected to provide benefits in the
development of science in the field of education, especially knowledge about the
performance of library managers in encouraging reading interest in the
community of Sibuak Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency. And the results
of this study are expected to provide benefits for the library as reference material
and an overview of future evaluations to encourage reading interest in the
community of Sibuak Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency.
This research is a type of qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive
method. This research was conducted in Sibuak Village, Tapung District, Kampar
Regency involving 3 (three) informants as research subjects, including the Head
of Sibuak Village (AZ), library manager (AP), community (TR). Data collection
techniques in this study are document techniques, observation, and interviews.
While the analysis in the study includes data reduction, data presentation, drawing
conclusions, and triangulation.
Based on the results of the study on the performance of the village library
managers who like to read in encouraging the reading interest of the people of

Sibuak Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency, it can be said to be quite good,
although the community's reading interest is not that high, this is influenced by
several things in the library. This can be seen from the performance indicators of
library managers in encouraging the community's reading interest, namely:
1. The performance of the library manager of the village who likes to read in
encouraging the community's interest in reading as seen from educators is
quite good even though the library manager is not a library graduate, this is
shown by the ability to train visitors with interesting services such as story
telling services so that children start reading because they are curious.
2. The performance of the library manager of the village who likes to read in
encouraging the community's interest in reading as seen from the manager is
very good, because it is able to make visitors satisfied with the information
provided, in addition to being seen from the number of children who have
difficulty with schoolwork coming to the library.
3. The performance of the library manager of the village who likes to read in
encouraging the community's interest in reading as seen from the
administrator is not optimal because it does not have a special program, but
the library manager is able to make the community satisfied with the services
provided, even though the books in the library are not up to date.
4. The performance of the library manager of the village who likes to read in
encouraging the community's interest in reading as seen from the library
manager as a supervisor here is quite good in convincing the community even
though the work they do is not in accordance with their education, and the
library management tries to improve their achievements, knowledge and
skills by participating in training both online and offline.
