Strategi komunikasi pokdarwis dalam mengembangkan desa wisata pulau belimbing erbasis budaya di desa Kuok
Pulau Belimbing Tourism Village is one of the tourist destinations located in Kuok Village, Kuok District, Kampar Regency which has various cultural tourism potentials such as Rumah Lontiok, Manggelek Tobu, Makan Bajambau, Pacu Tongkang, and others. The tourism village is managed by Pokdarwis Anjuongan Mato. Despite having significant cultural tourism potential, Pokdarwis faces several challages in developing the tourism village, such as lack of human resources, financial constraints, and the underutilization of social media as a tourism communication platform. This study aims to analyze the tourism communication strategis used by Pokdarwis Anjuongan Mato, specifically in setting communicators, identifying target audiemces, compasing massages, and selecting media to develop culture-based tourism village.
This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this research were 8 (eight) people selected through the Purposive technique, 2 from the Pokdarwis, 1 informant from the Village Head,3 informants from the local community, and 2 informants from tourists. The data analysis technique includes data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. Data validity was ensured through prolonged engagement and source triangulation.
The results of this research that Pokdarwis Anjuongan Mato’s tourism communication strategy in determining communicators involves selecting members with credibility, knowledge of tourism potential, communication skills, experience, and personal attractiveness, such as friendless and openness. Pokdarwis also collaborates with influential local figures. The target audience are focused on groups interested in local culture, such as students, academics, and cultural communicates, with efforts to expand to domestic and international tourist, although these efforts remain contrained by limited human resources and funding, message formulation includes informative messages to introduce tourism potential, educational messages to raise awareness of tourism development and cultural preservation, and persuasive message to raise awareness of tourism development and cultural preservation, and persuasive messages to encourage community participation and tourist management, in terms of media selection, Pokdarwis ultilizes face-to-face communication, printed media, and social media platforms such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram, an Youtube, adjusted to the audience’s needs and communication objectives
