Analisis Indeks Kekeringan Metode Normalized Difference Drought Index (Nddi) Berbasis Google Earth Engine (Gee) Dan Citra Satelit Sentinel 2 Di Kabupaten Siak
ABSTRACT
Frequent droughts often cause various hydrometeorological disasters that commonly occur in tropical regions such as Indonesia, particularly in Siak Regency, Riau Province. This study examines drought index analysis using the Normalized Difference Drought Index (NDDI) method in the administrative area of Siak Regency. In addition, this study also analyzes the correlation between the drought index and hotspots in Siak Regency. In this study, Google Earth Engine (GEE) was used as the primary data source and tool for analyzing drought indices and hotspot data from the Fire Information for Resource Management System (FIRMS). This study produced monthly average drought index values during the study period from 2019 to 2024 in the administrative area of Siak Regency. The results of the study show the distribution of the drought index based on its classification so that the relationship between the drought index and hotspots can be identified. Based on Spearman's correlation, comparing the two variables, the frequency of hotspots occurring in a certain period is not entirely determined by the drought index values. However, spatial analysis indicates a relationship between the drought index and hotspots, with hotspots concentrated in areas with severe and very severe drought index levels.
