Estimasi Musim Penangkapan Ikan Kembung (Rastrelliger Sp.) Menggunakan Data Hasil Tangkapan Di Uptd Pelabuhan Perikanan Wilayah I (Ppw1) Carocok Tarusan Provinsi Sumatera Barat
The estimation of fishing seasons in marine areas plays an important role in supporting fishing activities so that they can be carried out effectively and efficiently. Information about fishing seasons is generally closely related to data on fish catch productivity throughout the year, from January to December. This study aims to estimate the fishing season of Kembung (Rastrelliger sp.) landed at the Regional Fisheries Port Unit I (PPWI) Carocok Tarusan, West Sumatra Province. The method used in this study is based on secondary data, obtained through the collection of Indian mackerel (Rastrelliger sp.) catch data from boat lift-net fishing gear, as well as interviews with fishermen and management personnel at the Regional Fisheries Port Unit I (PPWI) Carocok Tarusan, West Sumatra Province. In general, the catch of Kembung (Rastrelliger spp.) at the Regional Fisheries Port Unit I (PPWI) Carocok Tarusan during 2020–2024 experienced significant fluctuations. This study concludes that the peak fishing season for Kembung occurs in January, February, March, April, October, November, and December. The moderate season occurs in May, August, and September, while the low season takes place in June and July. Therefore, fishing for Indian mackerel is best conducted from January to April and from October to December, while it is less favorable during June and July.
