Pengaruh Jenis Umpan Terhadap Hasil Tangkapan Bubu Di Kelurahan Teluk Meranti Kabupaten Pelalawan
This study was conducted to analyze the effect of different types of bait on fish catch results using fish traps in the Rokan River. This study used a field experiment method with a one-factor Randomized Block Design (RBD), involving three types of bait treatments, namely coconut pulp (Cocos nucifera), palm kernel (Elaeis guineensis), and rubber tree seeds (Hevea braziliensis), each with five replicates. The data collected included the number of individuals (tails) and the total weight of the catch (grams), which were then analyzed using ANOVA and the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at a 95% confidence level. The results showed that the type of bait had a significant effect on the number and weight of the catch (Fcount = 40.77 > Ftable = 4.45). The total catch during the study reached 1,959 fish weighing 68,959 grams, consisting of three main species, namely tuakang fish (Helostoma temminckii), selincah fish (Belontia hasselti), and sepat fish (Trichogaster). Palm kernel meal bait produced the highest catch, namely 1,139 fish (58.14%) weighing 36,371 grams, followed by rubber seed bait with 698 fish (35.63%) and coconut pulp with 122 fish (6.23%). This study concluded that palm kernel meal (Elaeis guineensis) is the most effective bait for increasing fish catch using traps in the Rokan River. This finding can serve as a reference for fishermen in selecting bait types.
