Karakteristik Fisikokimia Face Mist Dari Kolagen Teripang Berunok (Paracaudina Australis)
Paracaudina australishas ahigh protein content that has the potential to beasource of collagen. Collagen in cosmetics functions as a natural humectant and anti-aging agent. Face mist is a cosmetic product in the form of a spray that functions to increase the hydration of the outer layer of the skin. This study aims to determine the yield, water, ash, and protein content, functional groups, and amino acids of P. australis collagen extract as well as to determine the physicochemical characteristics of face mist from P. australis collagen extract. The method used was an experimental method with a non-factorial Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatment levels, namely collagen concentrations of 0%, 0,5%, 0,75%, and 1% with 3 replicates. The parameters tested in this study included extraction yield, moisture content, ash content, protein content, functional groups, amino acids, and the physicochemical characteristics of the face mist, namely homogeneity, pH, viscosity, softness, and drying time. The results of the study showed that collagen extract from P. australis had a yield of 2,32%, water content of 8,45%, ash content of 0,92%, and protein content of 81,30%. FTIR analysis showed the presence of amide A, B, I, II, and III. The best characteristics of the face mist in this study were obtained with a collagen concentration of 0,5%, pH 6,06, viscosity 110,67 cp, spray spreadability 6,50 cm, and drying time of 3 minutes 14 seconds.
