Hubungan Antara Aktivitas Fisik Terhadap Kadar Gula Darah Pada Remaja Sma Yang Mengalami Obesitas Di Kota Pekanbaru
Adolescent obesity is a major health problem that contributes to various metabolic disorders, including elevated blood glucose levels. Adequate and regular physical activity plays an important role in preventing obesity and maintaining normal blood glucose levels. In Riau Province, particularly in Pekanbaru, the prevalence of adolescent obesity increased from 3.1% in 2013 to approximately 11.6% in 2018. Data from 2023 indicate that this prevalence remains a concern, especially among high school students. This study aimed to determine the relationship between physical activity and blood glucose levels among obese senior high school students in Pekanbaru City. This research was an analytical study with a cross-sectional design. Data were collected using structured interviews with the International Physical Activity Questionnaire–Long Form (IPAQ-L) and direct blood glucose measurements. A total of 136 respondents were recruited using consecutive sampling. The Spearman correlation test was applied to assess the relationship between physical activity and blood glucose levels. The results showed that the highest average physical activity was found in male students (10,881,92 MET-minutes/week), while the highest average blood glucose level was found in female students (96,11 ± 10,91 mg/dL). The analysis revealed a negative but statistically non-significant correlation between physical activity and blood glucose levels (p = 0.535; r = -0.054).
