Profil Pasien Endometriosis Yang Mengalami Infertilitas Di RSUD Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Tahun 2022–2025
Endometriosis is an estrogen–dependent gynecological disease characterized by the growth of ectopic endometrial tissue and was one of the causes of infertility. This condition affected reproductive health, while local data were still limited. The prevalence of infertility among endometriosis patients at Arifin Achmad General Hospital increased significantly from 12.8% (2012–2016) to 54.1% (2022–2025), or approximately a fourfold rise. This study aimed to determine the prevalence and characteristics of endometriosis patients who experienced infertility. The study design was descriptive quantitative with a retrospective approach, based on medical records from January 2022 to July 2025. Of 122 endometriosis medical records, 66 cases had infertility (54.1%). Most patients were aged 31–40 years (75.76%), resided in Pekanbaru (37.9%), had a normal body mass index (62.1%), and experienced infertility for more than one year (87.9%). The most common type of infertility was primary (56.1%). Based on the stage, the highest cases were stage III (45.8) with lesions mainly in the ovaries (92.4%). Surgical interventions were predominantly laparotomies (62.1%), with cystectomy representing the most commonly performed procedure (36.4%).
