Peran united nations population fund (unfpa) dalam advokasi kesehatan reproduksi remaja perempuan di Indonesia (2018-2023)
The high prevalence of adolescent reproductive health issues in Indonesia—such as the risk of early pregnancy, limited access to health services, gender-based violence, and a lack of socialization—necessitates strategic intervention. Despite international commitments like the ICPD Programme of Action, adolescents' access to youth-friendly reproductive health services remains limited. As a partner of the Indonesian government, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) plays a key role through the BERANI program, which enhances education and health services to address stigma and gender inequality.
This research applies descriptive qualitative method by Creswell, utilizing secondary data collection through a literature study of annual reports, official documents, and publications from WHO, UNFPA, the Indonesian Ministry of Health, as well as academic articles related to the BERANI program from 2018 to 2023. The theoretical framework used is the Role of International Organizations theory by Clive Archer.
This research shows that UNFPA Indonesia effectively served an instrumental role by acting as a provider of technical and financial resources. Through the BERANI program, UNFPA Indonesia advocated for policies related to child marriage, contributed to strengthening comprehensive sexuality education in schools, and supported the establishment of the UNALA youth-friendly clinics.
