Perencanaan Tempat Pengolahan Sampah Terpadu (Tpst) Di Kecamatan Marpoyan Damai Kota Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT ABSTRACTABSTRACT
Rapid population growth and industrial expansion in Marpoyan Damai District Pekanbaru City have led to a significant increase in solid waste generation disposed at the Muara Fajar Landfill. Limited waste reduction capacity at the sub-district level remains a critical issue and is projected to worsen annually. To address this challenge, the development of a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Marpoyan Damai is proposed to enhance waste diversion and increase the market value of recyclable materials. Based on geometric projection, the district’s population in 2044 is expected to reach 231,629 residents, generating approximately 25.38 tons of waste per day, or 255.70 l/day in volume. The waste stream is dominated by food waste (58.61%), making Black Soldier Fly (BSF) bioconversion a primary treatment option for food waste. For non-biodegradable fractions, fluidized bed (FB) incineration is proposed to reduce residual volume, while recyclable materials such as metals and glass will be processed through conventional recycling methods.
The proposed MRF is projected to reduce up to 69.12% of total waste, with the remainder transported as landfill residue. The facility requires a land area of 5,180 m², including a building footprint of 2,524 m², with an estimated construction cost of IDR 8.47 billion
