pengaruh disiplin dan efikasi diri terhadap optimisme kerja pegawai dinas pendidikan kabupaten kampar
Work optimism is one of the important aspects that every employee in the
Kampar District Education Office environment needs to possess in order to carry
out their duties and responsibilities effectively. An optimistic attitude helps
employees maintain confidence in facing work challenges and enhances their
belief in achieving the institution’s goals. To create a productive and conducive
work environment, it is important to identify various factors that can influence
employees’ work optimism. Among these factors, discipline and self-efficacy play
significant roles. Maintained work discipline will foster positive habits,
punctuality, and adherence to applicable regulations, so that employees possess
self-confidence and conviction in achieving predetermined targets. Meanwhile,
self-efficacy, or the belief in one’s own ability to complete work tasks, is also an
important factor that can improve work optimism. Employees with high selfefficacy
tend to be more confident in making decisions, capable of facing
challenges, and willing to innovate in the workplace.
Based on these considerations, this study aims to analyze the influence of
discipline and self-efficacy on the work optimism of employees at the Kampar
District Education Office, both partially and simultaneously. This research
employs a quantitative approach with an ex post facto method, conducted at the
Kampar District Education Office. The research sample consisted of 131
employees selected using the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error, so that
the research results could proportionally represent the population. Research data
were collected through questionnaires prepared based on the indicators of each
research variable, namely discipline, self-efficacy, and work optimism. The
research results indicate a significant and positive influence of discipline on
employees' work optimism at the Kampar District Education Office, as shown by
a t-count value of 14.359, which is greater than the t-table value of 1.657, with a
significance value of 0.000. Furthermore, self-efficacy also has a significant and
positive influence on work optimism, indicated by a t-count value of 9.401, which
exceeds the t-table value, with a significance value of 0.000. Simultaneously,
discipline and self-efficacy have a significant influence on work optimism, proven
by an F-count value of 151.087, which is greater than the F-table value of 3.07,
with a significance value of 0.000.
xiii
These research findings affirm that discipline and self-efficacy
significantly and positively affect the work optimism of employees at the Kampar
District Education Office. The results indicate that the better the discipline and
self-efficacy of employees, the higher their level of work optimism will be, which
in turn will have a positive impact on enthusiasm, motivation, and overall work
performance. Therefore, efforts to improve discipline and self-efficacy need to
receive joint attention in order to create a healthy, productive work environment
and encourage employees to continuously grow and develop. Coaching programs,
training, and regular motivational activities can be strategic steps to strengthen
these two factors. Thus, employees in the Kampar District Education Office
environment are expected to be able to carry out their duties and responsibilities
with full optimism, dedication, and maximum contribution for the advancement of
the institution.
