Komunikasi interpersonal pelatih dalam meningkatkan prestasi siswa sebagai atlet voli di klub insan nasional tangguh riau(INT Riau)
The Riau INT Club was formed by Levki, S.Kom., M.Si in 2021. His goal is to foster and create Riau volleyball athletes who have a high competitive spirit and can advance volleyball in Riau so that they can compete with volleyball athletes in Java. He invited and gathered children who had high desires and potential in volleyball training until now the Riau INT Club can stand at the top and produce athletes who can compete at the national level. There are still many clubs in Pekanbaru that do not prioritize interpersonal communication and only prioritize interactional rather than interpersonal because each athlete has a different way of communicating and being emotional. The Riau INT Club as one of the volleyball clubs that actively provides training to student athletes has great potential to optimize this interpersonal communication in order to improve the experience and progress of athletes. The achievements of volleyball athletes are not only determined by technical and physical skills, but are also greatly influenced by psychological and social factors, including the interaction between coaches and athletes. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach.
This research was conducted at the Insan Nasonal Tangguh Riau club. There are six informants taken through purposive techniques consisting of five student athletes who have achievements and one coach. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews, and. This study uses interactive data analysis of miles and huberman with data validity checks carried out through extension of participation and triangulation.
The results of this study indicate the role of interpersonal communication of coaches in improving student achievement as volleyball athletes at the Riau Tangguh National Insan Club, which is humanistic and inclusive by coaches at the Riau Tangguh National Insan Club can practically be used as a reference in developing coaching methods for other sports clubs. By prioritizing openness, empathy, comprehensive support, positive attitudes, and the principle of equality, a training atmosphere is created that not only encourages increased athlete achievement technically, but also pays attention to the mental well-being, character, and social aspects of young athletes. The practice of two-way communication implemented by coaches has been proven to be able to strengthen motivation, team solidarity, and build a conducive environment for the development of athlete potential and self-confidence.
