Pengaruh isi pesan pada akun tiktok @infokampar.update terhadap pemahaman informasi masyarakat Kampar
The rapid development of information technology has made social media a primary means of disseminating information. TikTok has become a popular platform for the public, including for obtaining local information. The @infokampar.update account exists as a local media outlet utilizing TikTok to creatively and engagingly disseminate various information about Kampar Regency. This study aims to determine the influence of the content of messages on the @infokampar.update TikTok account on the understanding of information by the Kampar community.
This study uses the Stimulus–Response (S-R) theory, which explains that a communication message (stimulus) can elicit a specific reaction or response (response) from the recipient. The research approach used was quantitative with an explanatory approach. The study population was Kampar residents who follow the @infokampar.update TikTok account. A sample of 70 respondents was determined using a purposive sampling technique based on certain criteria: residing in Kampar Regency and following the account. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, simple linear regression, and the coefficient of determination test using SPSS version 26 for Windows.
The results of this study indicate that the content of messages on the TikTok account @infokampar.update has a positive and significant effect on the understanding of information among the Kampar community. The regression equation obtained is Y = 14.086 + 0.292X with a calculated t-value of 5.102 > t-table 1.995 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.277 or 27.7%, indicates that the content of the message has a low effect on the understanding of information among the Kampar community, while 72.3% is influenced by other factors outside the study. Although the messages only contribute 27.7% to the level of information understanding, this indicates that information content packaged attractively through social media like TikTok can improve the community's understanding of information.
