Status Keberlanjutan Sumber Daya Langkitang (Faunus Ater) Di Kawasan Mangrove Desa Apar Kota Pariaman Sumatera Barat
This study aims to analyze the sustainability status of langkitang (Faunus ater) resources in the mangrove area of Apar Village, Pariaman City, West Sumatra in a multidimensional context and to determine the sensitive attributes of sustainable management. The research was conducted in March 2025 in the mangrove area of Apar Village, Pariaman City, West Sumatra Province. This study employed a descriptive quantitative approach using both primary and secondary data. The method applied was a survey, with data collected through questionnaires, and respondents were selected using purposive sampling, totaling 30 individuals. Data analysis was carried out using the Rapfish method, assessed comprehensively across ecological, economic, social, technological, and institutional dimensions. Sensitive attributes were identified using leverage analysis with a Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS) approach. The results revealed that the sustainability status of langkitang (Faunus ater) resources in the Apar mangrove area of Pariaman City, West Sumatra, falls under the "less sustainable" category with an index value of 45.51. Among the five dimensions, the highest score was found in the social dimension (47.97; less sustainable), followed by the institutional dimension (47.51; less sustainable), ecological dimension (45.17; less sustainable), technological dimension (44.62; less sustainable), and economic dimension (42.26; less sustainable). Sensitive attributes influencing the sustainability of langkitang resources included water pH, water temperature, catch volume over the last five years, water pollution, profitability of langkitang fishing and sales, comparison of langkitang sellers’ income with the regional minimum wage, the number of sellers affecting competition, the role of fisheries extension workers, community dependence on langkitang-based livelihoods, community support for langkitang enterprises, family involvement in langkitang activities, fishing gear used, pre-sale processing, availability of formal and informal fisheries management regulations, the presence and role of formal institutions supporting fisheries resources, and the availability of community development organizations in the area.
