Perbedaan Jenis Umpan Terhadap Hasil Tangkapan Bubu Di Perairan Sungai Mandau Desa Pinggir Kecamatan Pinggir
Background: Bubu is widely used by the community because this tool is very practical and saves a lot of time when operating so that they can do other activities such as farming. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of bait on catches using bubu fishing gear, both in terms of the number and weight of fish in the Mandau River, Pinggir District. Methodology: The method used in this study was experimental fishing. This study employed a one-factor Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three levels of bait treatment. Conclusion: Different baits affected catches based on catch quantity with F hit > F tab (4.112 > 3.340), while based on catch weight (grams), there was no significant difference between the three baits with F hit < F tab (0.012 < 3.340). The use of oil palm fronds bait significantly differed from the use of chicken intestines and shrimp paste bait. The use of chicken intestines bait in bubu significantly differed from the use of oil palm fronds bait but not from the use of shrimp paste bait. The use of shrimp paste bait is significantly different from the use of palm fronds bait but not significantly different from the use of chicken intestine bait.
Keywords: palm oil fruit, fish trap, RAK, shrimp paste, chicken intestines.
