Estimasi Musim Penangkapan Ikan Cakalang (Katsuwonus Pelamis) Menggunakan Data Hasil Tangkapan Yang Di Daratkan Di Uptd Pelabuhan Perikanan Wilayah I (PPW1) Carocok Tarusan Provinsi Sumatera Barat
The Estimation of fishing season in marine areas plasyan an important role in supporting fishing activities so that they can be carried out effectively and efficiently. Information about fishing season is generally closely related to the data on fish catches productivity throughout the year, from January to December. This study aims to estimate the fishing season of Skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus Pelamis) landed at the Regional Fisheries port Unit I (PPW I) Carocok Tarusan, West Sumatra Province.The method used in this study is based on secondary data, obtained through the collection of Skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus Pelamis) catch data from boat lift-net fishing gear, as well as interviews with fishermen and management personnel at the Regional Fisheries Port Unit I (PPWI) Carocok Tarusan, West Sumatra Province. In general, the catch of Skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus Pelamis) at the Regional Fisheries Port Unit I (PPWI) Carocok Tarusan during 2015–2024 experienced significant fluctuations. This study concluded that the peak Fishing season of skipjack tuna occurs in May, June, and July. The moderate season for skipjack tuna occurs in Skipjack tuna occurs in May, June, and July. The moderate season for Skipjack tuna occurs in February, March, April, August, September, October, and December. And the lean season for Skipjack tuna occurs in January, November. So, it is best to catch skipjack tuna in February, March, April, May, June, July, August, October and December. It is not good to catch skipjack tuna in January and November.
