strategi komunikasi politik elfenni erdianta bangun sebagai calon legislatif dpd ri dapil provinsi riau pada pemilu 2024
Elfenni Erdianta Bangun participated in the 2024 general election as a legislative candidate for the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) representing the Riau Province electoral district. According to the official count by the General Elections Commission (KPU), she received 64,695 votes, placing 18th among 29 candidates. Although she did not secure a DPD seat, the number of votes she obtained indicates a considerable level of public acceptance, especially for a figure with no prior political experience. This phenomenon is also particularly interesting to study further, as there remains limited research on women's political communication—especially from minority groups. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach. The selected research subjects include Elfenni Erdianta Bangun as the political actor, the head of the campaign team, campaign team members, constituents, and swing voters. The aim of this research is to analyze the political communication strategy of Elfenni Erdianta Bangun as a DPD RI candidate from the Riau Province electoral district in the 2024 general election, focusing on three main aspects: organization, interpersonal communication, and mass media. The findings reveal that Elfenni Erdianta Bangun’s political communication strategy was not yet effective. This was due to suboptimal communication management within the campaign organization, technically ineffective interpersonal communication, and a lack of strategic planning in utilizing social media, which ultimately failed to engage voters who are active on digital platforms.
