Perancangan Museum Pacu Jalur Di Kuantan Singingi Dengan Pendekatan Arsitektur Neo-Vernakular
ABSTRACT
Indonesia, as an archipelagic nation, boasts a rich and diverse cultural heritage. One prominent cultural heritage that has become the identity of the Kuantan Singingi community is Pacu Jalur, a longboat race held on the Kuantan River. This tradition is not only a rowing sport, but also reflects the values of solidarity, mutual cooperation, and the identity of the Kuantan Singingi community. As the popularity of pacu Jalur grows, reaching national and even international recognition, the number of tourists visiting the event continues to increase. However, because pacu Jalur is only held once a year, a platform is needed to allow tourists and the public to view, learn about, and learn about pacu Jalur at any time. To address this need, the design of the Pacu Jalur Museum was proposed as an effort to preserve and display various collections and documentation related to the pacu Jalur tradition to the public and tourists. The museum is designed with a Neo-Vernacular approach, an architectural approach that combines traditional elements with modern technology. This approach not only preserves local culture but also supports sustainability by using local materials. The Pacu Jalur Museum is expected to provide an engaging experience for visitors, as well as become an educational and recreational venue that elevates the cultural values of Pacu Jalur.
